In French, boudoir means to sulk or to sit; it's an old-fashioned way of referring to a woman's bedroom or private sitting room. Historically, boudoir photography involved stilettos, red lipstick, gartered stockings, and lacy lingerie. Today, boudoir encompasses a wide genre of photography. To me, boudoir photography can be anything that makes the subject feel powerful. I encourage you, as my muse, to wear whatever you want for your session. Whatever feels the most YOU. Boudoir photography is empowerment photography.
